Dairy and Reflux Allergy in Babies

Reagan is doing so much better now that I have cut out all dairy and soy proteins from my diet. Eating out is out of the option. No fast food, desserts, butter, artificial butter flavors of any kind, anything that seems tasty with milk or oil are all out of the picture.  Nothing with spicing except for salt and pepper.  Absolutely nothing but water to drink.  I do not eat anything except what is listed below.  So this is what I eat:

Breakfast: oatmeal with peaches/raisins (old fashion kind)
Lunch: Bake potato, peas/carrots/squash/corn
Snack: air-popped popcorn (no butter)
Dinner: Chicken, potato, veggie, fruit

Combine this with a great schedule and life has dramatically improved. (When she wakes up at 10:00am my rule of thumb is 2 hr awake 2-hr asleep.)  Reagan used to cry for hours and choked every day.  Now she smiles and is happy much of the time.  I still watch her like a hawk incase of choking during sleep but life is much easier.

Baby Teeth

Reagan has just cut her first tooth.  The bottom right is completely in.  She should have the bottom left some time next week.  My little baby is 4 1/2 months old and has a tooth.

Dedication Pictures

These are my favorite baby dedication pictures from the professional photographer.  We just got them in the mail yesterday.  Emma seemed to be comforting Reagan the whole day.

Baby's Easter

Baby Reagan had a great Easter.  She looked so cute in her Easter dress.  Everyone at church thought she was so adorable.  Then we came home and had a wonderful lunch with Melissa and Christian.  It is getting harder to do the fancy dinners with china and silver now that our little one is here.  She requirers constant attention.  Once dinner was over Reagan opened her big Easter basket.  Her favorite part was the wrapping.

Baby Reagan is 4 months

Baby Reagan is 4 months old.  She is getting so big.  She is still not sleeping through the night.  I am hoping that is soon to come.

Baby Talk

Reagan is learning to make baby talk sounds when trying to communicate with us.  It is so funny! She talks most after her nightly bath.

Baby's Beach Photo-Shoot

My friend Tracy has a photography business (to look at her site www.tracyhullphotography.com) and she took the most amazing journalistic photos of our family.  Babies at Reagan's age are not that easy to photograph especially off schedule!  She did an amazing job at working with our little one.  So here are the photos of Reagan's third family photo-shoot on location.

Mommy and Daddy date

Leandro and I have only been on one dates since we have had baby Reagan.  Mom said she would baby sit our special little one so we could go out.  (This is a scary job since you never know when Reagan will choke because of the refux.)  Reagan was so good until she was hungry.  Since I have been nursing her, she has started refusing bottles the last couple of weeks.  The only way mom could get her to calm down was putting her feet in a sick of warm water.  She went wild kicking, splashing, and watching herself in the mirror. Grandmas aren't they great!

Reagan the BIg Girl

Reagan is 17 weeks old this week.  I can't beleive she is right here on the 4 month mark.  I had to put all her 0-3 month cloths away and the basenet part of her stoller. (It brought tears to my eyes)  She is now standing in her crib while holding on to the sides and sitting in her big girl chair in the stoller.  I want her to grow up but this is way to fast!

Reagan's Upper GI test at Hospital

Reagan was diagnosed with reflux during some x-rays she had taken at the hospital.  Poor baby looks so miserable during and after the test.  We have more Dr. appointments on Tuesday.  I just started a dairy and soy protein free diet which has seemed to help her constant upset tummy.  Basically I only eat fresh meat and veggies spiced only with salt and pepper.  I also can't eat tomatoes and citrus because of her reflux.  I am having to come up with creative ways to make my limited diet tasty.  I will do anything to make my little Reagan feel better.

Baby Texture

Reagan is learning about textures in her Gymbory class.  So "NaNa" her grandma decided to introduce her to a new one.  She was so funny pulling on the long rubbery strands.
